Everything's Coming Up Roses

We all know that jeans are a year-round staple, but when fall rolls around denim becomes an everyday occurrence, am I right? At least that’s the case for me....It’s leggings or jeans and that pretty much sums up the bottom half of virtually every outfit.

But this fall, jeans have taken on some extra fun trends and I’m loving them....anyone with me? You’ve got flares (so 70’s chic), ankle crops (all the better to show off great shoes), raw-hem (super cool and edgy) and embroidery (extra fun....I’m all about added interest and embellishment)....And if you’re me, when you find a pair that incorporates some or all of these elements, you’ve gotta snatch ‘em up! So when I saw these cropped, slightly flared, raw-hem jeans with embroidered rose patches on www.zaful.com, I made them mine.

What really attracted me to this pair was, first and foremost, the pretty rose patches (I love a good pop of color and floral details) with the raw-hem coming in a close second. I had actually seen an almost identical pair on Zara’s website but these were just as cute and even more affordable (under $30 if you can believe it....you seriously can’t beat that!), which I thought was an added bonus. I don’t know about you, but when it comes to denim I’m willing to pay a lot for jeans that are a little more basic and that I know I can wear with anything. I definitely have my fave brands (AG, Mother and Paige to name a few) and my fave styles (think distressed, boyfriend and high-waisted), but when it comes to trendy denim that includes details like patchwork or embroidery, I’d rather find a less expensive option in order to try out the trend before shelling out too much. So all that to say, I was super excited to find these cuties and thought they were a perfect option.

I did order a size medium based on the measurements given on the site and I feel like they are just a little big in the waist and I possibly could’ve sized down. So I would probably recommend ordering true to your normal size (so for instance, if you are normally a 26 or 27 in jeans, I’d probably order a small). But I do like a more relaxed fit and think they'll be great with a cute belt (I have my eye on a couple double buckle ones!) And otherwise I thought the length was good (they are meant to be an ankle crop), the embroidered patches are super cute and I’m a big fan of the frayed hem. Plus my order got to me quickly which again always makes me happy (anyone else not like to wait?) And I also have to say that I’ve found Zaful’s after-sale service to be awesome... very accommodating and easy.

I decided to style this denim a couple different ways for photos just to show how you can dress ‘em up and make them edgier with an off-the-shoulder top, leather choker and statement booties or go totally casual in sneakers, a tee and a sweet faux suede moto-jacket (which I picked up at Midnight Rambler in Denver and absolutely love....so comfy and this pale pink is a perfect new neutral)! I definitely love pieces that you can style multiple ways for more wear and different occasions so these jeans are perfect for that.

I’ve linked this exact pair here:

And here’s a fun embroidered skirt option too (Would look really cute with a sweater and over-the-knee boots):

How do you all feel about the new denim trends? Which are your faves? Would love to hear!
