A Little Introduction....

Welcome to my very first blog post! I have so much respect for my blogger friends and the time and effort it takes to write and post on a consistent basis on topics that are consistently interesting and inspiring to read. That said, I simply want to use this as a platform to express my thoughts, my excitement, my doubts, my victories and my challenges in trying to follow my passion and build a brand. Plus, it gives me an outlet for all those extra things I’m just dying to say on any given day (Anyone who knows me knows I’m not a woman of few words!). And most importantly, I’m hoping it will allow me to connect with you and maybe even encourage you in some small way.

So, in case you want to know a little about me, read on! If not, you can stop now (but I hope you won’t!)....

 My Personal Life:

Married (for 15 years….yes, that’s a long time I know!)

Two kids: A daughter, Annabella, age 10 (super-creative!), and a son, Bennett age 7 (the sweetest)

Personal style: Comfort is key! Eclectic, modern boho, edgy….anything but boring!

Design Philosophy (which also happens to include two of my favorite quotes ):

“Details are not the details. They make the design.” –Charles Eames

Think shoulder and back details, asymmetry, cut-outs, etc…. I try to stay away from designing basics because when I am limited to a small number of designs a season, I want them each to be special in their own way.

“Fashion is what you buy. Style is what you do with it.”

I design based on my personal, and eclectic, taste (which I know not everyone shares) so it’s my hope that everyone who buys a p&p piece will style it in a way that is unique to them and reflects their own personal style. And I absolutely love seeing what people do with them!

Biggest Challenge:

Self-doubt. (Confession: I’m a people-pleaser. And trying to please everyone when you’re designing anything is a losing battle. In my head I know this, but still I try. So there’s a lot of second-guessing that comes with putting my personal style and aesthetic out there, but I’m working on it! After all, we are all a work-in-progress, am I right?)

Favorites (in general):

Chocolate (I know, not super original, but a girl wants what she wants!)

Fabric (...the softer and comfier the better.)

Pure Barre (Lift, tone, burn baby!)

Free People (boho geniuses)

Shoes (of all kinds, though the details really make ‘em for me.)

Salads (Don’t be fooled, it’s not a health thing….If you saw the amount of dressing, you’d understand.)

People with kind hearts (‘Nough said.)

Quotes (Love ‘em! Case in point….see “Design Philosophy.”)

Least Favorites:

Poor grammar (Yes, I’ll admit it….I’m a total grammar snob!)

Slimy food textures (This includes oysters and the like.)

Fruity desserts (No, I would not like the poached pears….I’ll have the triple chocolate lava cake with extra whipped cream.)

Obviously, these are not comprehensive lists, but it’s a start right? And maybe this isn’t exactly the insightful, inspiring, meaningful post that I really wanted to write for my first blog entry, but it’s very me (casual and honest), and hopefully that’s ok too! Hope you’ll stay tuned!

PS. Since I’m new to this, if there’s anything you want to know about me, my designs or peach & pepper in general, just let me know! I’d love to connect with you!
