Comfort Isn't Always About Fabric....

I'M OBSESSED WITH BECOMING A WOMAN COMFORTABLE IN HER SKIN.

(Quote from Pinterest....yes I could look at Pinterest quotes for hours and hours and hours....)

You know those women who seem to have it all together?  They manage work, family, school, hobbies, memberships etc, all while sporting perfect hair? Yeah, that’s not me. If I'm honest, I struggle to juggle my small business while giving my family the time they need and deserve, much less adding anything else into the mix. Plus, I’m more of the “dirty hair, don’t care” variety (Two words: Dry shampoo. Can I get an Amen?!), except I do care….usually way too much.  I have been called “oversensitive” more times than I care to admit.

So when I saw this quote on Pinterest, I immediately pinned it and have started using it as a personal mantra. No, I haven’t engraved it on anything (yet) or written it on post-its all over my house, but I wouldn’t put it past me. At present, it’s just a great reminder of the woman I want to become.

Have you ever looked around and thought, “I wish I was as smart, funny, pretty, stylish, nurturing, (you fill in the blank), as she is….”? I’d be lying if I said I haven’t. And the truth is, I’m all of those things, but there will always be someone who’s more of each of those than I am. And that’s totally ok. My goal is to become a woman comfortable in her own skin and to stop comparing myself to anyone else. I’m unique and so are you….We all need to remember that and, more importantly, embrace it wholeheartedly.

And peach & pepper is an extension of me, so I also have to be comfortable with putting it all out there and hoping people will love it as much as I do (with the understanding that not everyone will). Because this is me….It’s what I love and what I love to wear. And, of course, I hope you’ll love it too (but I’ll learn to accept it if you don’t…it just might take a little time)!

Here's to each of us being (or becoming) comfortable in our our own skin and not forgetting how unique and amazing we all are! Wishing you all a fabulous week!

XO,

Allison
