Accessories Necessities

There’s a quote that states, “Give a girl the right shoes and she can conquer the world.” As a shoe-lover, I can relate (anyone with me?). But honestly, it could really be a great hat, a beautiful necklace, a fun bracelet or ring stack, a good manicure, you name it, the right accessory can make an outfit (and make you feel extra pretty in the process).

I’m a hat girl. That’s really my accessory of choice (besides a fab pair of shoes, of course). I think I counted about 20 hats in my closet this morning...everything from fedoras to beanies, flat-brimmed to floppy and even a couple of baseball caps thrown in for good measure. And the colors...everything under the rainbow from red to blue to gray to cream and beyond. But seriously, I wear them all. There’s probably not an outfit in my closet that I couldn’t pair a hat with (It’s bordering on an addiction). I think the reason I love them so much is that I truly feel like adding a hat to an outfit automatically takes the style factor up a notch. Pair a colorful fedora with a white tee and jeans for casual, easy breezy style or add a wide-brimmed floppy hat to flared pants and a cropped top for a cool 70’s vibe. And don’t forget about the dresses....A fun flat-brimmed summer hat (or beanie in the fall) just adds a little extra cool to an ultra-feminine look. If you’re in the market for a great hat, check out one of my faves, Lack of Color ( And if you’re in Denver, I have found great hats at Shea ( and Meraki Moon ( Goorin Brothers also has a wide selection ( I love supporting local when I can, and all three of these boutiques are local and super stylish.

Then there are the staple accessories I wear literally every day without fail....Case in point, my Lily & Laura beaded bracelet stack ( and my Bohemi hand-cast arrowhead necklace ( Both are so easy to throw on and neutral in tone, but they always add an element of style even when my outfit is simply leggings and a tank (which is my uniform most days if I’m honest).

Of course a cute handbag and great shoes never hurt either. Shoe trends I’m loving right now? Lace-ups, block heels and wooden 70’s-style platforms....all of which I’ve found at Free People and Nordstrom Rack (my go-to shopping meccas).

So those are my "accessories necessities" in a style nutshell. What are your go-to pieces? I'd love to hear! Wishing you all a fab rest of your week!
