Black & White and Ruffled All Over - Romwe Style

You guys, I love ruffles. If you've been following along for any amount of time, you probably already knew that. But did you know that I'm also currently having a love affair with black & white? I'll be real with you, classic is not really my thing. I tend to love trends, edgy pieces, things with "flair" (I can't use that word without thinking of the movie Office Space, anyone else??), so the fact that I'm crushing on the classic b&w color combo is a little out of character for me. But yet I am. I love it. I feel like everything I've been ordering lately is either black, white or both. So when Romwe reached out to me to style three of their pieces, you guessed it, I chose b&w and ruffled for all of them. And I'll tell you, I am super happy with all my choices.

I honestly think the hardest part was trying to find different ways to style three pieces that all have a lot of details in common as far as color and style, but in the end, I chose to simply style them as I would actually wear them in real life.

First, let start with their Pearl Beading Layered Bell Sleeve Jumper ....I seriously love this sweater! Not only does it have the pearl accents on the sleeves which are so on-trend right now, it has the layers of ruffles which are so feminine and pretty and the sweater itself is really soft and comfortable and fits perfectly (roomy enough and the length is great too). I ordered a M in this sweater, and even with a fuller bust, I have no complaints on the fit at all. So needless to say, I am more than satisfied with the quality and design and think it's a steal at just $23.99. I chose to style this sweater with some Hudson ripped hem jeans and open-toe sock booties that were a great Target find. It's a simple casual look that works well for a coffee/lunch date or a meeting at one of my kids' schools or hitting the mall for a little shopping. I also think this sweater could be dressed up by pairing with a pair of leather (or faux-leather) pants or midi skirt and heels or sock booties.

My second Romwe piece is their Contrast Binding Flounce One Shoulder Top in white with black trim. It honestly kinda makes me feel like I need to go salsa dancing cause it's so fun. I adore shoulder details, asymmetrical designs and ruffles so this top is kinda a style dream come true. I also received a M in this one and again the fit is pretty perfect. The elastic around the chest keeps it in place without being too tight or digging in and the sleeve is a good length (won't drag in your soup at dinner). And I love the all white with just the black trim as an accent....very chic. Plus you cannot beat under $14 (yes you read that right....$14!) for a top that makes you feel trendy and pretty and like you need to be out dancing. I styled with high-waisted black jeggings from H&M (fitted to balance out the volume of the top) and decided I wanted to add a couple little pops of color with bright mustard suede Topshop heels and statement tassel earrings from local Denver shop, Wish Boutique (check out my previous post to learn all about Wish). And then I threw in my favorite spiked clutch to add a little edginess to the whole look. I'll definitely be wearing this look for a girl's night out or date night with the hubs. I also think this top would pair nicely for day wear with regular blue jeans and some fun red flats or a white kitten-heel ankle boot (I have my eye on a Topshop pair).

Finally, the third piece I chose was their One Shoulder Layered Ruffle Trim Bodysuit, which is dramatic and pretty fabulous. The ruffle actually appears to be made from an almost recreational-type mesh fabric that feels a little different but the structure allows the ruffle to stand up and adds to the drama of it. I was super excited to style this one in kind of a 90's fashion with high-waisted released-hem jeans, hoop earrings and pumps. Unfortunately the bodysuit was too big (I received a L) so I wasn't able to actually wear and photograph it, but I still think it's a great piece and would just recommend sizing down from what the size chart says. I have included a flat-lay photo to show how I likely would've worn it. The bodysuit is under $15 and as far as quality, I would say the other two pieces felt a little more luxe, but as far as style and design, this one is fashion-forward and definitely a stand-out, statement piece.

Overall, I have to say I was really impressed with all three of these pieces and how they looked on. And the prices are kind of unbeatable for trendy tops that you'll be able to wear all fall and likely into future seasons too. I mean black & white never goes out of style and ruffles kind of seem like they're here to stay too. I'd recommend checking out Romwe for on-trend, affordable fashion and if you have any questions about any of these pieces or want any recommendations for other Romwe items I'm loving, just comment or email and let me know!

Have a great week friends!
