Falling for Wish

As a former local Denver designer, I love supporting local. Some of my favorite clothing and accessories come from people I know and admire who are doing their thing (and doing it so well) in the Denver fashion scene. So when I attended a local blogger event recently (put on by My Haute Society) at Wish Boutique on South Gaylord here in Denver, I knew I had found another local shopping go-to. (On a side note, I have actually been shopping for fun little gifts at Wish's sister store, appropriately named Wish Gifts, for awhile now, but hadn't actually been into Wish Boutique but maybe once before.) So when I saw at the event all they had to offer in the way of super cute clothes and accessories and how friendly and helpful the staff was, I knew I wanted to collaborate with them.

In browsing at the event, I found two long faux fur coats that really caught my eye...one in a leopard print and one in a pale blush shade and went home debating which one needed to come home with me. Then when I visited their store again to try on both coats and make a decision, Amanda brought out a shorter leopard option with a great lapel, red lining and red accents on the snaps that I just couldn't pass up. I have seriously been wanting a coat like this for a couple of winters now and hadn't found the perfect one until I found this beauty at Wish.

The style, the fit (I'm wearing a S), the comfort, the print and the little pops of red all add up to the perfect winter faux fur....so glam with a bit of a vintage feel (which is also a big trend this year). Plus, the neutral palette means I can wear it with almost anything....I mean, "as far as I'm concerned, leopard is a neutral." Who's with me?

I chose to style this coat like I would if I were going to a blogger brunch or happy hour....with a fun graphic tee (thanks to Cara at Never Skip Brunch for this cute cropped one), high-waisted frayed-hem denim, metallic heels, statement earrings (also from Wish) and big 70s-style sunnies for a retro-glam kind of vibe. And I have to say, I felt super glamorous in this look (a great faux fur will do that to you)! And this coat is so versatile, it would also be perfect styled even more casually with boyfriend jeans, a plain tee or fitted turtleneck and sneakers.....or all dressed up with a little black dress and heels. In fact you may very well see me style it other ways either on IG or out in public 'cause it's gonna be on repeat for sure. And at $135, I feel like it's super affordable for as often as you can wear it, as timeless as the style and print are (I will be wearing it for many winters to come) and what a fun statement coat it is. Plus, it's just so cozy, which is a huge bonus!

(On another side note, my friend Steph was at my house when I was trying on the different pieces I was planning to photograph for some upcoming content and when she saw this coat she knew she had to have it as well... and literally bought it a couple days later. So now we are gonna totally twin and I'm absolutely ok with it cause we're gonna look so cute doing it!)

And this is seriously just one of the beautiful faux fur options - both coats and vests - that Wish has available so I absolutely recommend checking them all out, along with all their other cute pieces (There was the prettiest pink cold-shoulder sweater with grommet detail on the mannequin when I walked in last week that I may just have to go back for). I also purchased a couple funny cards and two great pairs of earrings at the blogger event, one of which I styled with this look and one that I styled in another blog post, so I highly recommend browsing all their accessories too.

But as much as I love their clothes and accessories, I think the best part about shopping at Wish is how friendly and helpful all the girls are, and how they support and sell local as well (they carry my friend Dana's line, Never a Wallflower, in addition to a local card brand). And if you've ever heard the saying, "When you buy from a small business, an actual person does a little happy dance," I can tell you it's true (can vouch from personal experience). So if you're in the Denver area, I can't say enough good things about Wish (or this amazing coat).....you really need to go check out their store on South Gaylord and use this discount code: WISHALLISON20 for 20% off one full-priced item (valid though Thursday, Oct. 19, 2017....two weeks from today). I've linked their boutique site again here and their IG page here .....PLUS, Wish also hosts fun in-store events every month (in the past they've done themes like a Broncos event, Mermaids and Margaritas, Wine and Clothes Pairings....) and they are also available to host awesome girls' night out parties where they donate 10% of sales to your chosen charity, school etc...so grab your girls and set up a fun night of sips and shopping!

Needless to say, I'm #fallingforWish and I'm sure you will too....so get over there and let me know if you love their store as much as I do (and I'd love to know what great pieces you find)!

Here's to shopping local, falling for gorgeous fall fashion, and little happy dances.

XO,

Allison
